PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device capable of freely adjusting the inclination direction and the angle of inclination of a cover plate even when a spacer is not replaced in the device for adjusting the inclination direction and the angle of inclination of a manhole cover plate. SOLUTION: Two rings having wedge-like side shape or spacers substantially equivalent thereto are movably overlapped to be interposed between the outer frame and the inner frame of a manhole device provided with the inner frame 2 vertically movably and inclinably fitted to the inside of the outer frame 1. The equivalent spacer can be formed of one ring-like spacer and a circular spacer 21 overlapped at a position equally dividing the circumference. When the inner frame in rotatable, the upper side disposed ring-like spacer can be integrated with the lower face of the inner frame. The overlapped spacers are relatively rotated to adjust an angle of inclination, and the whole body is rotated to adjust an inclination direction. A maximum thickness position and a mark indicating an angle therefrom are provided on the ring-like spacer and the inner peripheral face of the inner frame integrated therewith to easily perform the adjustment of the direction of inclination.
