摘要 PURPOSE:To heighten battery voltage when actuating a nonaqueous secondary battery so as to extend the application range of the battery of this kind by using LiMnO2 as the active material of the positive electrode, and performing charge and discharge between LiMnO2 (O<X<1) and LiMnO2. CONSTITUTION:LiMnO2 having rhombic crystal structure shown in the JCPDS card No35-749 by X-ray diffraction measurement is used as the active material of a positive electrode 7 and charge and discharge are carried out between LiMnXO2 (O<X<1) and LiMnO2 and when lithium or a material capable of storing and emitting lithium is used as a negative electrode 1 a battery voltage of about 4 to 3.5V can be obtained. The LiMnO2 serving as the active material of the positive electrode 7 is composed by subjecting a mixture of MnCO3 and lithium salts to heat treatment.
