The present invention is a chewy confectionery formulation with nutrients prepared by positively hydrating a mixture of components including a hydrobinding component, a saccharide-based material and a bioaffecting substance having poor organoleptic characteristics. The present invention also includes a new method of making a confectionery mass, such as a chewable caffeine supplement, by hydrating sufficiently to form the mass without the need for cooking to drive off moisture. |
