PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To surely prevent the flow-out of foreign matter or dust in fluid to the downstream side of a screen by constituting to provide a heat resistant elastic means such as a metal in the flow passage direction of the screen and pressing the screen to the upstream side or downstream side to support the screen with a strainer body. SOLUTION: The strainer for separating and removing the foreign matter or dust in the fluid flowing in a pipe line has the screen 11 fitted to a projecting sleeve part 14 of the strainer body 10 and a lid 13 is fixed with bolt, nut or the like through a gasket 15. In such a case, the elastic means 12 composed of the heat resistant material such as the metal is provided in the flow passage direction of the screen 11. The elastic means 12 is composed of a circular elastic chip 12a and a sleeve part 12b, the sleeve part 12b is fixed to the inside or outside of one end part of the screen 11 in the longitudinal direction by welding or the like and the circular elastic chip 12a is projected from the one end part of the screen 11 in the longitudinal direction. As a result, the screen 11 is easily attached to and detached from the strainer body 10 and assembling property and maintenance property are improved.
