The force application component (11,12) executes movement produced by the muscle force from a person. Also incorporated are a force transmission component and a brake component. The force transmission component connects the force application component with the brake component. The components are arranged in a housing (40), from which the force application component projects. The housing (40) is connected to a fixture (48) formed so that it can be fixed to a door (100), a bed gable or similar. The fixture comprises a separate unit connectable to the apparatus housing.
