FIELD: shutting-off pipe lines transporting viscous liquids containing admixtures of solid particles. SUBSTANCE: gate valve has body with guides and carriage which may move over these guides under action of spindle; axle of plate is located in transversal horizontal passage. Retainer is located in side hole of carriage and its one end is engageable with axle of plate and other end is engageable with recess found on guide of body. Gate valve is provided with stop for limiting motion of carriage when straightway passage is shut-off by plate of body. Carriage is provided with longitudinal vertical passage which intersects transversal horizontal passage of carriage. Vertical passage is provided with spindle having inclined surface, type tongue-and-groove. This surface is engageable with mating surface made on axle of plate.
