PURPOSE: A polyester article is provided to include a polyester polymer being produced by using a catalyst obtainable by reacting an alkyl titanate or an alkyl zirconate, an alcohol, a 2-hydroxy carboxylic acid, and a base. CONSTITUTION: A polyester article is described which comprises a polyester polymer produced using a catalyst obtainable by reacting an alkyl titanate or an alkyl zirconate, an alcohol, a 2-hydroxy carboxylic acid and a base. The article preferably takes the form of a film or a bottle. Also described is a process for the production of the article.
