PURPOSE: An information processing system and peripheral apparatus is provided, which has a security system for judging as to whether a peripheral apparatus and a recording medium are authorized. CONSTITUTION: The information processing system comprises: a personal computer (51); a CD-ROM driver (52) for setting a CD-ROM (53) which a program is stored; a display (50) for displaying a screen for a game; a peripheral apparatus (10) to be connected to the personal computer (51), having a main board (30), a touch pen (1), a page sensor (2), and a tablet; and a D-SUB cable (3) for connecting the personal computer (51) and the peripheral apparatus (10). Thereby, it is possible to efficiently prevent the performing of the program by the peripheral apparatus and the recording medium.
