摘要 PURPOSE: A method for regulating the formation of foam during cationic electrophoretic coating is provided which uses a polyalkylene oxide compound having a degree of water solubility of more than 50 parts by weight in 100 parts by weight of water as antifoaming agents. CONSTITUTION: The method for controlling the formation of foam during cationic electrophoretic coating is described. To that end, polyalkylene oxide compounds having a degree of water solubility of more than 50 parts by weight in 100 parts by weight of water are used as antifoaming agents. Particularly advantageously, these are compounds of general formula (I) R1-O-(CH2CH2O)n-R2, in which R1 is a straight or branched alkyl group or alkenyl group with between 8 and 18 carbon atoms, R2 is an alkyl group with between 4 and 8 carbon atoms and n is a number between 7 and 30.
