PURPOSE: A system for operating a controlling device in a motor vehicle is provided to contain instruments activating the controlling device in response to the change of an input signal and to secure a high reliability on the operation on the controlling device without an excessive energy waste. CONSTITUTION: The invention relates to a system for operating a control device in a motor vehicle. According to the invention, at least one input signal is connected to the control device. The invention is characterized in that elements are provided for activating the control device in response to a change in the input signal. These inventive elements enable the control device to react appropriately to a change in the input signal at any time. In a particularly advantageous embodiment, these inventive elements have a lower internal current consumption than the control device being activated. Since the inventive elements only have a low internal current consumption and since the control device with the higher internal current consumption is only activated when necessary (when there is a change in the input signal), the invention ensures that the control system has a high degree of operational reliability without excessive use of energy.
