PURPOSE: A portable MP3 player having a various function is provided, which down-loads a digital file from an external computer or a data vending machine to store and reproducing the down-loaded data and performs an additional function. CONSTITUTION: The portable MP3 player having a various function comprises: an analog/digital converter (318) for converting an analog audio signal into a digital audio signal; a CODEC unit (316) for decoding a MP3 music file using a MP3 method and encoding the digital audio data using a certain method to output an audio data file; an interface unit (312) for interfacing a portable data storage and the transmitting/receiving of the data file; a non-volatile memory (314) for storing the data file provided from a data providing means and the audio data file encoded by the CODEC unit (316); a key input unit (328) for reproducing the audio signal or instructing the processing of an addition information; a digital/analog converter (322) for converting the decoded digital audio signal into an analog audio signal; and a controller for controlling a file storage, reading and reproducing to the memory (314). Thereby, it is possible to improve the using convenience.
