EDITING DEVICE AND EDITING METHOD

PURPOSE: An editing system provided with an editing device and a computer for controlling the editing device. CONSTITUTION: The computer (2) has control means for displaying a viewer window (92), a log window (93) and a program window (94) on a computer display (2B). The viewer window (92) is adapted for generating an event by determining an edit point while viewing a video image of a source material supplied to the editing device. The log window (93) is adapted for displaying a clip image concerning the event set in the viewer window. The program window (94) is adapted for preparing a program list by arraying a plurality of events on a time line in a desired order. With respect to each event arrayed on the time line, an icon indicating a source device from which the specified event is generated is displayed on the computer display.
