摘要 PURPOSE: A reflective type liquid crystal display is provided to improve the contrast of the display. CONSTITUTION: In the display, the liquid crystal cell controls the incident light by the applied electric field forming the scatter state and transparent state and projecting the incident light to the direction exceeding the general view angle of liquid crystal cell. In the display, the polymer dispersion liquid crystal cell and selective reflector arrayed corresponding to the rear part of cell is placed. ITO electrode is generally used and the electrodes formed on one substrate is vertical to the electrodes formed on the other substrate. The selective reflector comprises lineal prism and the surface of the prism is deposited with metal thin film.
