PRODUCTION METHOD OF 4,4`-DIKETO-CAROTENOID

PURPOSE: The production method of 4,4`-diketo-cartenoid is provided which avoids chemicals including sulfur or phosphorous. CONSTITUTION: The method is as follows:(1) Under the presence of Lewis acid or Bronsted acid, polyene di(O,O-dialkyl acetal) as shown in chemical formula 2 is reacted with cyclic dienol ether as shown in formula 3. (2) The product is hydrolyzed in an acidic condition. (3) Alkanol R¬2OH of the yielded compound as shown in formula 4 is decomposed in an acidic or a basic condition to produce a ring-substituted symmetric polyene in an edge as shown in formula 1.
