PURPOSE: An absorbent composition containing a modified carbon material for absorbing an absorbed material being attached by more than one organic substance and a method for increasing the absorbing capacity of the carbon material absorbing the absorbed material by using the absorbent composition. CONSTITUTION: An absorbing method of an absorbed material includes a step for contacting a modified carbon material to the absorbed material by attaching an organic substance. Herein, the modified carbon material can absorb the absorbed material while being attached by more than one organic substance. An activated carbon, a carbon black, other carbon materials being obtained by heat analyzing a cellulose, a fuel oil, a polymer, or other precursor, a waste, or a carbon material of by-product is included as the carbon material for absorbing the absorbed material. In addition, more than one diazonium salt is reacted with the carbon material while absence of the electric current being fed with from outside for returning the diazonium salt for attaching the organic substance to the carbon material.
