Verification system to prevent data copying includes derivation of specific markers from data and cryptographic signature to authorise copying

The system provides enhanced protection through use of data markers. The method of protection against copying data from an information support (1) uses a first identification of the data coding (2) and a second identification of a 'tattoo' of the data (3). This allows determination (10) of a first mark (1) if the coding and the tattooing have been identified (5,8). A third identification of the type of information support (11) is followed by the determination (15) of a second mark (2), if the above information is correctly ascertained. A further process is carried out to identify a cryptographic signature which accompanies the data, and this lead to the determination of a third marker (3). Permission to copy the data is only provided if the third marker (3) is correctly determined.
