METHOD OF HYDROGENATING HYDROFORMYLATION MIXTURES

Hydrogenation of reaction mixtures arising from the hydroformylation of 5-24C olefins is carried out in the vapor phase using a non-supported copper-chromium catalyst. A process for the hydrogenation of reaction mixtures from the hydroformylation of 5-24C olefins by means of hydrogen using a solid catalyst at elevated temperature. The reaction is carried out in the vapor phase using a non-supported copper-chromium catalyst with distillation of aldehyde, alcohol, formate and low boiling point material from the reaction mixture.
