A method and an apparatus for washing a fibre pulp mixture, whereby water an d, with it, ash and other particle-type impurities are removed from the fibre pulp mixture. In the method, the fibre pulp being washed is fed between two wires so that water and ash are removed from the fibre pulp through both wires, after which the wires and the fibre pulp between them are led to run along a curved surface to remove any extra water by means of the press of th e wires and the centrifugal force. The apparatus has two wires (1, 2) and a dewatering section between the wires (1, 2) and water and impurities are removed in the dewatering section (3) through both wires (1, 2).
