The method involves using a joining and separating device (4,5) arranged after a printer. Following a joining and separating process the foil or label strip (10) to be printed is set forward or back to the finish or start of the printed image with the printer (3) raised. With the printer and transport mechanism lowered the foil strip is moved in the forwards or backwards image direction. Thereafter the foil strip is moved forwards to the joining and separation device to reach the desired bag length or label size for and the joining and/or separation process is performed. |
