N-[N-(3,3-dimethylbutyl)-L- alpha -aspartyl]-L-phenylalanine 1-methyl ester is combined with cyclodextrin to form compositions exhibiting increased stability and solubility. Cyclodextrin can be alpha , beta or gamma , or a mixture thereof, and may be substituted or unsubstituted. This stabilized complex can be used in a variety of applications. Complex formation can be accomplished by a variety of methods, such as co-precipitation, slurry complexation, paste complexation, mixing and heating, extrusion, dry mixing, wet pelletization, agglomeration and other methods known in the art.
