One or more slaves (401) are connected to a field bus (5). A separate status table is produced for each slave, containing its operating status. Each table is erased while first initializing. To reinitialize a bus master (301,302) in a preset time, to re-establish communication between the bus master and the slaves and to avoid resetting already initialized output from the slaves, each slave is fully initialized and the bus master reinitialized because of interference.
