An automotive steering assembly has a track rod with an outer bush (14) into which projects a bolt (12). The bush and bolt are separated by a damping unit (18) of defined length and fabricated from an elastic material. Both the bush and bolt have a series of peaks and troughs which fit and are embedded into matching recesses within the damper.
