Apparatus for thermally coating the inner walls of hollow bodies has a hollow wire electric arc inner burner (11) having a burner head (13) with two wires (14, 15) extending from the feeding mechanism. An electric arc can be ignited between the wires. A distributor gas nozzle (16) is arranged in the inner burner so that gas radially exits. The burner shaft (10) is fixed in place by a holder (3) and is in the form of a hollow body through which the wires are fed from the feeding mechanism to the burner head. The holder has a feed device protruding into the burner shaft for the distributor gas.
