A sanitary absorbent article having flaps with substantially straight sides whic h taper from the distal end of the flap towards the proximal end of the flat. A fastener having a length exceeding that of the proximal side of the flap may be attached to the garment-f acing face of the flap. Also, a sanitary absorbent article having flaps which substantially consta ntly diverge from the proximal side to the distal side having a fastener having a length exceeding that of the proximal side of the flap may be attached to the garment-facing face of the flap . |
