<p>A wastewater treatment system having a tank (12) with an offset access openi ng (18) at the top, a frustroconical clarifier compartment (24) within the tank , an aeration compartment (34) around the exterior of the clarifier compartmen t, and aerators (36) extending into the aeration compartment. The aerators are positioned below the access opening. The aerators include an inlet (48), a conduit (50), a diffuser assembly (52) connected to the conduit, and an anch or (54) connected to the diffuser assembly.
