<p>A hinge mechanism (22) including a positive latching assembly (30) is provided for allowing rotation of a first hinge member (24) relative to a second hinge member (26) about a pivot (28) when the positive latch is released and prevents rotation about the pivot when the positive latch is engaged. The positive latching assembly is operably disposed between the first and second hinge members. The latching assembly includes a locking member (82) coupled to the second hinge member and a pivotable latching member (40) coupled to the first hinge member. The latching member is rotatable between a locking position and a release position and includes a locking surface (84) for engaging the locking member in the locking position. Further, the locking surface disengages the locking member when the latching member is in the release position.</p> |
