The device has radio operated mobile transmitter/receiver unit and an image reproduction unit, and the transmitter/receiver unit has a high speed UMTS interface for transmitting moving images and high resolution images. The image reproduction unit is in the form of data spectacles with an arrangement for forming images of the received image data on at least part of at least one spectacles glass with an optical component in front of it. The transmission/reception unit and the data spectacles are connected together and there is an arrangement for operating the broadband communications device.
