PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent a thermal head from being cut due mainly to the invasion of ions to an insulating protecting film by setting a potential of a conductive protecting film to not higher than a potential of an electrode at the ground side of the thermal head so as to prevent the electrode of the thermal head from being corroded by positive ions in a thermal recording material. SOLUTION: A potential VA of an electrode 46a at a COM (common) side and a potential VB of an electrode 46b at a GND (ground) side are both larger than 0 and the VA is larger than the VB.
