PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a communication terminal equipment and its functional information item retrieving method capable of improving the retrieving efficiency of a functional information item and shortening function setting time. SOLUTION: The communication terminal equipment is provided with a functional information item hierarchy management part 501 for hierarchically managing respective functional information items and a functional information item retrieval/display control part 502 for retrieving a corresponding functional information item based on the management result of the management part 501 and displaying the retrieved item on a display part 52. When a digit number corresponding to the upper hierarchy of the functional information item hierarchically managed as a retrieving input is inputted the control part 502 retrieves any one of functional information items of a lower hierarchy corresponding to the digit number and displays the retrieved result on the display part 52.
