PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To back up and restore files independently of an APP based on conditions intrinsic to each of the plural files depending on user's needs. SOLUTION: This system backs up and restores only a file that a user designates by software through plural procedures and is constituted to make the name of an object file to be operated, correspond to the backup procedure and restoring procedure and permanently station them in a management table 32, monitor the occurrence of an event becoming a turning point of the backup and restoration of the designated file and the generation of a request to back up or restore the file from an APP40 to a management table 32 through a request information part 25 by a copy control process 23 according to the corresponding procedure and execute a copy for backup or restoration by starting a copying process 24 when the event or the request is generated.
