APPARATUS FOR ACQUIRING STEREO IMAGE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To acquire stereo images having wide effective fields respectively and having a parallax between them as one image by one camera. SOLUTION: Two images of a subject viewed from different positions of visual points and taken in by objective lenses 101 and 102 are rotated clockwise respectively at an angle of 90 degrees by Dove prisms 103 and 104 and then synthesized in one image by total reflection mirrors 105-108. The synthesized image is reduced at a prescribed magnification by a condenser lens 109 and then projected on an image pickup plane of CCD 110. In this way, stereo images having a parallax can be acquired as one image by using one camera without narrowing the respective effective fields of the right image and the left image different in a visual point.
