PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To effectively keep the temp. of a garbage treatment tank by effectively utilizing heat generated by heating a catalyst at a time of the deodorizing of the exhaust gas from the garbage treatment tank and to simply perform the maintenance and inspection of a deodorizing device from the surface side of the garbage treatment apparatus. SOLUTION: A garbage treatment apparatus 2 is constituted so that garbage is charged in a garbage treatment chamber 1 to be subjected to decomposition treatment by a garbage treatment material. An exhaust gas heating and deodorizing device 4 and a heating chamber 5 for heating the garbage treatment chamber 1 formed on the undersurface side of the garbage treatment chamber 1 to which the heated exhaust gas discharged from a deodorizing device 4 is supplied are provided on the way of an exhaust route for discharging the exhaust gas in the garbage treatment chamber. The heating and deodorizing device 4 is arranged on the front side of the garbage treatment apparatus 2.
