PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and a device for recording capable of readily performing recording of an image having a gray scale. SOLUTION: Plural passes of recording operations are executed by an ink jet nozzle with respect to an identical pixel away. Two kinds of recording data per one pixel array is prepared. An image having a gray scale of a plurality of gradation levels is formed such that dot sizes formed in each pass differ from one another, the formed positions of the dots are shifted with each other and one pixel is formed by non dot, one dot or a plurality of dots. As a result, it is possible to obtain a plurality of graduation levels of which number is greater than that of sizes of dots by virtue of the graduation levels based on the combination of dots. It is possible to simplify the data structure and to reduce the cost of the device. |
