PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To attain an efficient money reception and payment task by extremely reducing any trouble and defective paper money during carriage by correcting the failure of the separation, monitor, and shape of paper money during carriage in a paper money processor to be used by an automatic cash transaction device. SOLUTION: This device is provided with a paper money separating part, tracing means 62, carriage paper money state detecting means 63, and thickness detecting means 64 so that the denomination and the number of biased or superimposed defective paper money can be checked. In this case, the overlapped state is analyzed by a number identifying means 65, and after the number is designated, the superimposed paper money is peeled by an attitude converting part, and the peeled state is confirmed again, and the number of the paper moneys is estimated. Afterwards, the biased state is corrected by an attitude correcting part 68, and the paper money is carried to an accumulating part.
