A system incorporating an interface for developing documents which allows simultaneoulsy displaying the document being developed, changes to the document and a history of changes made during development. The system is of the type having a processor, a display, and a memory in data communication with both the processor and the display. The interface of the system segments the display into a plurality of regions, displaying, in one of the regions (86), a document file (92) having viewable information associated therewith. In a second of the regions (84), a message file (94) is displayed, and in a third of the regions (82), a plurality of message headers (96) are displayed. A subset of the message headers provides a summary of content in the message file (94) and the message file (94) provides a description of a subportion of the viewable information. |
