<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a hood capable of absorbing the shock along the whole area in the lateral direction of the vehicle at the rear part of the hood, improving the loading property to a vehicle as well as obtaining a load-displacement property suitable to the shock absorption of a walker. SOLUTION: This jumping-up hood is provided with a walker detecting means 16 to detect the collision with a walker and the like; a controller 17 to discriminate whether to operate the system by receiving a signal from the walker detecting means 16 or not; a jumping-up mechanism 18 to jump up the rear part of a hood 12 when the controller 17 decides that the expansion and the development of an air bag 33 is necessary; and an air bag module 19 to expand and develop the air bag 33 after the operation of the jumping-up mechanism 18 is started. This air bag module 19 is set at the lower side of the rear part of the hood 12, the air bag 33 of the air bag module 12 has a partition wall 35 to regulate the maximum distance between a bag lower wall surface and a bag upper wall surface, at the middle position in the longitudinal direction of the vehicle in the expanded and developed condition, and the air bag 33 in the expanded and developed condition abut to almost the whole area of the lower surface of the rear part of the hood 12 in the longitudinal direction of the vehicle, and at the same time, the air bag 33 is set to expose to the rear side from the rear end of the hood 12.</p> |
