PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prepare the subject agent not causing acid production due to cariogenic bacterium, preventing the formation of dental plaque, having dental caries-preventing effect and useful for dentifrice, various kinds of food, or the like, by including ethyl-α-glucoside. SOLUTION: This agent is prepared by including ethyl-α-glucoside produced pref. by the sugar converting activity of α-glucosidase enzyme of microorganisms such as Aspergillus (e.g. Aspergillus oryzae or the like) from both saccharides (e.g. starch or the like) having α-glucoside group and ethanol. The agent prevents glucosyl transferase enzyme produced by cariogenic bacterium, Streptococcus mutans or the like from forming water-insoluble glucan. |
