PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To open the lid of a large-sized can by one person by vertically movably providing a horizontal rod on a base where the can is mounted with a column, and also, vertically movably attaching a plurality of protruding pieces on a cylindrical portion at the distal end of the horizontal rod, and at the same time, slidably attaching a lid cutter to a turning rod which is horizontally turnably attached to the cylindrical portion. SOLUTION: When the lid of a large-sized can for industrial use or the like is opened, first, a can 2 is mounted on the upper surface of a base 1 in such a manner that the central part of the can 2 may meet a plurality of protruding pieces 8, 9, and also, a horizontal rod 4 is lowered by loosening a fixing screw 5, and respective protruding pieces 8, 9 are brought into contact with a lid 7. Then, by pressing a pressing member 12, respective protruding pieces 8, 9 are pierced on the central portion of the lid 7, and the can 2 is fixed to the base 1. Then, a nut 19 is loosened, and a threaded cylinder 17 is slid in a long groove 14, and after a cutter 15 is located at the peripheral edge portion of the lid 7, the nut 19 is tightened, and the cutter 15 is integrally fixed with a turning rod 13. Then, after the cutter 15 is pierced to the peripheral edge portion of the lid 7 by pressing a pressing portion 23, the cutter 15 is turned by gripping a grip portion 22, and the lid 7 is unsealed.
