PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To form a front cover whereby contents of print data can be distinguished easily without processing a character string by slicing part of the print data and printing sliced images on the front cover when developing the print data to raster images and outputting the same. SOLUTION: When starting a process in response to an output request received from a client 10 via a request reception part 21, a request management part 22, a request execution part 23 of a printing apparatus 20 acquires an attribute corresponding to the output request from an attribute reference part 24. An attribute for forming a front cover is also acquired at this time. An image formation part 25 forms a raster image on the basis of the acquired attribute from print data at a leading end designated by the output request. When formation of the front cover is designated, the request execution part 23 makes the image formation part 25 to form a raster image of the front cover on the basis of the raster image formed earlier and delivers the raster images to an output control part 27.
