A bow configuration for a tarpaulin roof for the bodies of motor vehicles or containers with rigid or flexible front walls and side walls and upper longitudinal fascias (4) formed by shaped tracks, defining the height of the structure. A tarpaulin (5) that covers the roof area of the structure is supported by bows (6) that are arranged at regular distances from each other, extending widthwise across the loading compartment and are supported on the longitudinal fascias (4). The bows that cover the upper longitudinal fascias (4) are supported on both sides in a horizontal and vertical direction on longitudinally oriented shaped elements pertaining to the upper longitudinal fascia (4) by means of a positive fit. The upper longitudinal fascias (4) are formed by steel running tracks (13) comprising a supporting element that consists of a hollow profile with a substantially square-shaped cross-section and a substantially T-shaped running track section with the same uniform shape and material thereas. The angular sections of the end pieces that cooperate with the running track section are joined to the shaft sections of the bows (6) and fitted with engaging parts, in addition to being made of single-piece, flat material folded parts, and the retaining sections pertaining thereto are formed by longitudinal sections of a U-shaped profile material. The end pieces are exclusively fitted into and joined to the profile material section forming a shaft section of one of the bows. |
