NEW ENZYME FOR SYNTHESIZING OLIGOPEPTIDE FROM D- OR L- AMINOACID ESTER AND MICROORGANISM PRODUCING THE SAME

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain the subject new enzyme catalyzing oligopeptide synthetic reaction using an amino acid ester and an amine component as substrates, capable of utilizing either of D- and L-amino acid esters and useful for synthesis etc., for medicines. SOLUTION: This new enzyme catalyzes synthetic reaction of oligopeptide using an amino acid ester and an amine component as substrates and can utilize either of D-amino acid ester and L-amino acid ester as the amino acid ester and is useful for synthesis, etc., of oligopeptide capable of using for antibiotics and hormones widely utilized in medicinal field. The new enzyme is obtained by culturing a microorganism producing the enzyme [e.g. Bacillus mycoides AS-1] (FERM D-16969)].
