摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain the three-dimensional image input device that is made small in size at a low cost without the need for provision of an optical shutter and provides a sufficiently high output. SOLUTION: A charge sweep-out signal S2 is outputted synchronously with an output of a vertical synchronizing signal S1. Thus, unwanted charges having been stored in a photo diode are swept out in a direction of a substrate. As soon as outputting of the charge sweep-out signal S2 is finished, a range finding optical pulse S3 with a prescribed pulse width is outputted. A CCD detects a reflected light S4 in a measured object receiving the range finding optical pulse S3. After the lapse of a prescribed time from outputting of the range finding optical pulse S3, a charge transfer signal S5 is outputted and the charges stored in the photo diode are transferred to a vertical transfer section. The vertical transfer section integrates signal charges S6 by repetitively outputting the range finding optical pulse S3 and the charge transfer signal S5. This signal charge S6 corresponds to distance information up to the measured object.
