PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To allow the user of a work station device to appropriately know the result of facsimile transmission by allowing a work station device to receive a transmission confirmation message from a network facsimile equipment and visibly output the content to the user. SOLUTION: Various kinds of programs such as facsimile application software for executing group 3 facsimile transmission procedure processing and preparing and display-outputting facsimile image information and various kinds of software for transferring various kinds of data through an LAN are introduced to work station devices WS1-WSn. Then, a network facsimile device FX receives a request for the transmission of image information from the work station devices WS1-WSn, and forms a transmission confirmation message for indicating the result of the transmission of the image information, and communicates it to the origin of the request for transmission. Therefore, a user can appropriately and quickly know the result of facsimile transmission executed by the user himself.
