PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an alloy capable of refining the crystal structure at the time of casting for preventing cracks when being rolled and moreover having excellent characteristics also in terms of mechanical strength and electric conductivity by incorporating specified amounts of Fe, P, Zn and Ca into Cu. SOLUTION: This alloy is the one contg., by weight, 1.5 to 2.5% Fe, 0.001 to 0.1% P, 0.01 to 1.0% Zn and 0.0005 to 0.05% Ca, contg., at need, one kind among Mg, Al and Zr, and the balance Cu. Fe improves its mechanical strength and heat resistance by being precipitated into Cu, but, in the case of >2.5%, coarse Fe crystallized products are easy to be produced at the time of casting, and cracking, blistering in plating or the like is made easy to be generated in the final product. Ca has the action of refining the cast structure, in the case of <0.0005%, the effect can not be obtd., and, in the case of >0.05%, the improvement of the refining effect above that is not exhibited, and, furthermore, the reduction of the electric conductivity and, particularly, the involving of slag at the time of casting are frequently generated.
