SOLUTION: The device is to display the operating contents of a switch 1 to displace the operating position to one of the two directions for altering the setting value to decide the contents of the operation of an appatarus concerned, wherein on the basis of the sensing result for the operating position of the switch 1 given by an operating position sensing means 7, a light emitting display executing means 41C allows a light emitting display element to make display in various light emission forms in different directions in accordance with the direction of the change in the operating position of the switch 1 judged by an operating direction judging means 41B on the basis of the sensing result given by the sensing means 7 when a judging means 41A for existence of any operation has passed a judgement that the switch 1 is turned.
