PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize stable stratified charging combustion in a wide operating region by setting an optimal ignition timing on the basis of an operating condition of a cylinder fuel injection engine, and setting a fuel injection timing on the basis of the ignition timing and an operating condition of the engine so as to carried out an ignition operation at an optimal fuel spray position. SOLUTION: While an engine is operated, in an ECU 10, a fuel injection timing is found out referring a map on the basis of engine rotating speed calculated from an output of a crank angle sensor 6 and an acceleration opening calculated from an output of an acceleration opening sensor 8. An ignition timing is calculated referring a map on the basis of the engine rotating speed and the acceleration opening. A time from a fuel injection pulse generation executing crank angle to fuel injection pulse generation execution, and a fuel injection pulse time are set to an injection timer of a fuel injection object cylinder. When it reaches an execution crank angle, the injection timer is operated, an injector 26 is driven, and fuel is injected into a combustion chamber of the object cylinder.
