PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a road surface condition detecting device for a vehicle capable of accurately determining a road surface condition when the vehicle is started while being turned. SOLUTION: Since a road surface condition is determined by a road surface condition judging means 64 based on the rotation start turning of each front wheel 20 and the rotation start turning of each rear wheel 34, which are detected by a wheel speed sensor, even when a vehicle is started while being turned, the road surface condition can be accurately determined. Namely, when the vehicle is started while being turned, the rotation speed or wheel speed VF computed based on the rotation speed of each front wheel 20, is increased as compared with the rotation speed or wheel speed VR computed based on the rotation speed of each rear wheel while being affected by the difference in turning radius between each front wheel 20 and each rear wheel 34, because the rotation start timing of each front wheel 20 and each rear wheel 34 are not affected by the difference in turning raius. |
