PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rotary cutter type cutting apparatus wherein there exists no possibility that small pieces of wood cut by a rotary cutter are piled up, and the small pieces of wood can be made to fall down on a carrying belt conveyer so as to hold a regulated posture. SOLUTION: A rotary cutter 5 and a guide part 3 which receives small pieces of wood cut by the rotary cutter 5 from the bottom and makes them fall down on a carrying belt conveyer provided below while they are guided along the guide face so as to hold posture of the small pieces of wood, are provided and the guide face is formed into a downward projected curved shape and a wind vent path 32 for letting the wind generated by rotation of the rotary cutter 5 escape is provided on the guide face.
