PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To facilitate the handling of a paste for brazing an Al material and to improve the solvent resistance of a coating by using a high polymer having cationic-polymerizable functional groups for the paste. SOLUTION: A cationic polymn. initiator is preferably incorporated into the high polymer. The high polymer preferably contains a radical-polymerizable unsatd. monomer having a functional group and an alkyl (meth)acrylate monomer having no functional group as essential constituent units. The functional group is preferably one or more functional groups selected from epoxy, vinyl ether and propenyl ether groups. The object paste preferably contains a powdery brazing filler metal for an Al material, the high polymer as a binder resin and an org. solvent and/or water. The weight of a coating of the paste after the removal of the org. solvent and water is preferably 10-100 g/m2.
