<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for regenerating a foamed polystyrene which is easy to remove foreign matters, easy to transport an intermediate product, and does not increase the cost of equipment and the operating cost and can secure stabilized operation and control and quality, and an apparatus therefor. SOLUTION: A polystyrene-containing liquid obtained by the volume reduction of a foamed polystyrene with a solvent is heated by pressurizing while preventing the vaporization of the solvent, then vacuumized to a pressure lower than atmospheric pressure, and the solvent of the polystyrene-containing liquid is distilled off by the heat energy which the polystyrene-containing liquid possesses before vacuumizing without heating after vacuumizing.</p> |
